Previously an economist, now I create economics resources on this website and I tutor economics (A-Level and undergraduate).
Summary
I was fortunate to study Economics at Cambridge for four years, undergraduate and Master’s, until 2019. Then I spent a year working as an economist in the public sector.
As early as 2015, I have been helping students study economics online. This includes through online forums and through this website.
In 2019, I took on my first paid economics tuition work and have tutored in economics since then.
Currently I run tfurber.com, which offers resources and advice for economics students.
The website has reached over 50,000 visitors (and hopefully has helped them with their economics too)! Thank you for stopping by!

Experience – tutoring, creating resources and working as an economist.
- Tutoring:
- I have been helping economics students online through economics resources, online forums and voluntary work since 2015.
- I started taking on paid tuition students in 2019 and have been tutoring ever since!
- I have previously worked on tutoring platforms such as Superprof and Tutorhunt. Now I work and find students through this site.
- 39 reviews are available. Where reviews have star ratings as they were from tutoring platforms, 100% of these reviews have 5-star ratings.
- I have also worked directly with schools. This includes providing support for economics-related university admissions, mock interviews and guidance for A-Level Economics.
- Economics resource creation:
- In addition, I have been creating resources for A-Level Economics AQA and Edexcel A students.
- Examples include notes, practice papers, model answers, exam technique explainers and more.
- These are used by thousands of students and also many schools.
- There are also resources for economics university applications and undergraduate economics on this site.

- Economist:
- Previous experience as an economist in the civil service.
- Includes work on energy and financial regulation.
- To this day I take an interest in reading the academic economics literature. This includes writing articles explaining economic research.
Academic qualifications and certificates
- A-Level grades:
- 5 A*s and 1A.
- This includes A* grades in maths, further maths and economics.
- Degrees:
- Undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge, 2015-18 (2.1).
- Master’s degree in Economic Research also from the University of Cambridge, 2018-19 (with distinction).
I have really enjoyed my time studying economics. My aim is to pass on this knowledge to as many students as possible.
Background checks for tutoring: I possess an Enhanced DBS Certificate (UK) and an Enhanced Certificate of Conduct (Germany). Both are available for parents of my tuition students to see upon request.
My interests
In 2020 I moved abroad from the UK to Germany, though I still visit the UK frequently. While my language skills leave a lot to be desired, I enjoy learning and speaking other languages.
I am grateful that my self-employment allows me to travel, work anywhere and to be my own boss.
Outside of work, I am a keen chess player and swimmer.
