Benefits of A Level Economics Edexcel tuition with me
- Learn the course content. Maybe you find particular concepts in the Edexcel A Economics A Level course difficult. Alternatively you may want someone to go through the course material from scratch with you. In either case I can help you improve your understanding of and confidence with the key course topics.
- Get extra practice through homework assignments. I can set practice questions or practice papers for homework, as well as past papers. This helps to reinforce understanding of course content and exam technique.
- Improve your answers. Get detailed feedback on how you can improve your answers. I focus on actionable steps to help students improve. That could be a particular change to how you analyse or evaluate, a misunderstanding of the course content, an issue with answer structure or any other issue.
- Work on essay structures. How much should you write for the section B questions, such as the 5, 8, 10, 12 and 15 markers? We can discuss the right amount of analysis, application and evaluation for each question type.
- Get better at the 25 mark questions. These questions can be daunting for some students. We can break down how to answer 25 markers, how to extend your analysis to a high level and how to write conclusions.
- Fix time management issues. The Edexcel A Economics exams can be tight for time and students can risk running out of time at the end of each paper. Where are you spending too much time and how can you be more efficient in answering the exam questions? We can also tackle this as part of our sessions.
Ultimately, all these benefits contribute to improving your scores and grade in A Level Edexcel A Economics.

Real case studies of Edexcel Economics A Level students I’ve helped
One student came to me about one year before the exam, when they were achieving grade E in their school assessments. There were issues here with the quality of economics teaching at their school. We started with learning the course content basics through a question and answer approach in the sessions, which the student engaged with well. For homework I set lots of practice questions to work on exam technique. Regular feedback on the homework led to large improvements in grades and the student’s confidence that they could score highly. We also used the sessions to run through the course content, teaching it in a way the student could understand and engage with. This led to the student receiving an A for Edexcel A Economics A Level, a four grade improvement over the year.
Another Edexcel A Economics A Level student started regular tuition once to twice a week a few months before the exam. The student had a solid level of knowledge of most areas of the course. However they were unsure about exam technique and some of the more difficult aspects of the Edexcel A course. As a result, they were initially at a B grade level in their school assignments. We started the sessions by reviewing the student’s work from school, showing the key ways in which they could improve the structure of their section B responses, such as the 5, 8, 10, 12 and 15 mark questions. We went on to discuss 25 markers in section C. Every week I set practice questions as homework, for different areas of the course. This led to a significant improvement in test scores. This led to the student receiving an A* for Edexcel A Economics A Level.
Reviews
“Tom’s help during the lead-up to my exams has been invaluable! He quickly stepped in to give me feedback on essays as I was finding it challenging to assess them myself. Tom gave well-structured and detailed feedback while marking my questions which has given me clear guidance on how to improve. The resources on his website are also significantly helpful, I wish I had seen it earlier!” Lucy, Edexcel Economics A-level student.

Disclaimer
Students who engage in weekly long-term tuition with me have seen their Economics grade improve by two points on average.
Please kindly note I cannot guarantee a particular grade improvement for an individual student, as there are multiple factors that determine grades. This includes but is not limited to student effort.
That said, I hope all my students find my sessions helpful and my goal is to help students improve as much as I can.
