Most common problems for AQA students and how my tutoring can help

Struggling to structure AQA 25 mark questions?

Let me teach you how to structure a 25 marker, how to analyse and evaluate and what to include in each paragraph. Practise 25 markers for homework with fully marked comments.

The 25 markers make up 50 of the 80 marks available in each of Papers 1 and 2. This is a critical question type to work on to boost grades.

Not sure what effective evaluation looks like?

Let’s discuss what evaluation looks like for AQA Economics and practise with exam technique drills within and outside of sessions for homework. This includes 25 marker conclusions. Building the evaluation skill alone can boost grades.

Not getting the AQA Economics practice and feedback you need?

Make use of my AQA Economics style practice papers to prepare for mock tests or the final exams. These can be reviewed as part of sessions and set as timed homework practice, for marking before the next session. Weekly homework tasks are set which are often practice AQA Economics style essays.

Are you running out of time on Papers 1 and 2?

Let’s discuss timing strategies to make sure you don’t run out of time in the exam. This includes time management strategies for papers 1, 2 and 3. Paper 1 and 2 in particular can cause time management problems for some students.

Finding the course content difficult to understand?

We can run through the course content from scratch or focus on topics you find challenging, depending on your level of understanding. Explanations are personalised, based on your strengths, weaknesses and interests. This gives students the best chance to comprehend the material. Practice questions and tests can reinforce content learning to ensure the content is remembered.

Losing marks on the 2, 4, 9 and 15 mark questions?

I can mark your homework and give comments on your classwork attempts. Using my knowledge of the most common flaws in responses to the 9 and 15 mark questions, we can fix any consistent errors to ensure you are using proper exam technique. Feedback and practice that’s specific to the 2, 4, 9 and 15 mark questions to raise your scores.

I believe in a tutoring approach that’s highly specific to you (your strengths, weaknesses and interests) and specific to the AQA exam board.

I have created AQA-specific economics resources used by several schools and students. I know the course content, papers and exam technique requirements inside out and can distil this advice for students.
